Sharing the good news with surfers for 35 years

From our humble beginnings with Australian teenager Brett Davis in the 1970s, and through the 1980s when Christian Surfers (CS) took root in the United States, CS has served as a bridge between the beach and the church through local outreach ministries.

Today, CS is the world’s largest surfing ministry. We have ministered to hundreds of thousands of surfers as God has drawn surfers to himself through people serving in our organization who love surfers through the framework of CS. Our ministry is strengthened by our affiliation with Christian Surfers International which is active in thirty-eight countries across six continents with two-hundred local missions.

Despite our growth, we aim to stay true to our original pursuit and goal to ensure that every surfer and every surfing community has an opportunity to know and follow Jesus Christ. There are millions of surfers across the globe and we have only scratched the surface. We have seen firsthand how the lives of surfers are eternally impacted through the vital ministry of Christian Surfers, and we are eager to continue our pursuit of “every surfer and every surfing community”.

Christian Surfers is on the front lines of a spiritual battle, especially with our youth. Through CS we encounter many who struggle with drugs, violence, depression, bullying, and suicide which are all common in surf culture. CS models another way to live, the way, as surfers come to the crossroads of life and death. We offer a spiritual family to those who have never known community.
