PNW Campout 2025

Trip/Event Date:
Fri Oct 24, 2025 - Mon Oct 27, 2025
The goal for the regional campout is to gather the local chapters together for a time of encouragement, fellowship, and adventure. The days are filled with hunting for waves, connecting with God, others and creation and lots and lots of camp coffee. The campground is nestled in a remote stretch of wilderness on the coastline of Northern California. It’s a raw, beautiful landscape that makes you feel like you are in another world. You must come see for yourself!
HAVE QUESTIONS?
We are so stoked that you are interested in joining us on a trip!
Take a look below at some of our frequently asked questions about our trips.
Where?
USAL Campground, Whitethorn CA (4 hours north of SF) Remote location with closest gas station/ landmark an hour away.
What?
This is a raw camping on the beach, adventure trip. This means NO AMENITIES. There is one outhouse toilet, but we will set up pop up toilets if needed, which means either a big hole with a tent around it or a bucket with an attached toilet seat. We will pack it in, pack it out. All food, water, grills to cook with, etc will be provided by CS Staff and we will provide all meals. No cell service.
Surfing
The wave is an unpredictable beach break. Extremely variable depending on the wind and swell. If there’s enough swell there’s a right point break that works, but last year we surfed mostly beach break that was fast and dumpy. Never know what you’re gonna get, but that’s part of the adventure.
Fishing
There is a creek that might have some fish that will bite, but there’s always the surf perch from the beach that are always hungry. Bring your own fishing gear and license, it will not be provided.
How Do I Get There?
I will provide driving instructions once you register. Although google maps will get you there, you lose service along the way so I have a couple helpful tips to make sure you don’t get lost. Let me know if you need a ride and I will help coordinate carpools.
Vehicle
You need an off roading vehicle such as an AWD or 4WD. The the main road getting into camp is a 45 minute dirt road that is rough and bumpy. A car with good suspensions is important.
What am I paying for?
Three meals a day, drinking water, propane, toilet paper, biodegradable toilet bags, trash bags, cooking supplies such as butter, oil, spices, fire wood, and a T-shirt. We do things as cheaply as possible. Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.
What do I need to bring?
Packing list will be sent to all registrants. Just know this is a camping, not glamping, trip. We cannot control the weather so come prepared for the cold ocean water (4/3 wetsuit + and booties) and the cold air.
