Jimmy joins the CS staff as a lifelong surfer (well…since the age of six) and after twenty-five plus years leading other ministries including Young Life, a local church and serving as a consultant to many other ministries nationally. Jimmy is a Carolina born and bred surfer and he loves the Tarheels almost as much as he loves surfing. Jimmy, his wife Shelly and two kids Bailey and Tyson, spend as much time together as they can enjoying the Carolina coast and their home-base of Charleston.
Kim HitchcockNational Operations Manager
Kim is a lifelong beach girl having lived in beach communities in California, Florida and Maui. Surf culture changed her life forever when she married a pro surfer/windsurfer, moved to Maui and was called into ministry. She spent 5 years on tour with an international ministry before moving to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where she currently resides. Her experience in corporate and nonprofit organizational development as well as ministry uniquely prepared her to help lead with CS. Kim loves visiting her son in Miami, taking her puppy to the beach, SUP, coffee, concerts, and contemplative prayer.
Nick SammonsCreative Director
Every successful ministry needs a great storyteller to share the news of what God is doing in those lives the ministry impacts. Nick is our storyteller using video and other multi-media platforms to share the testimonies of changed lives and exciting ministry opportunities. Nick left behind a successful career in the entertainment industry to serve with CS, and when not shooting or surfing can be found hiking, camping, or searching for the best taco in SoCal.
Solveig JobbinsSocial Media Manager / CS Girls Development
Solveig (say it with us…soul-vay) is a creative who thrives on dreaming up how to bring people together through creativity, sports, and Jesus. Her past experience involves photography, event planning, social media, visual storytelling, and working with various ministries for young women. Solveig lives in Carlsbad, CA with her husband, Cheyne. Solveig loves surfing, coffee, creativity, and spending time with people.
Cheyne JobbinsRegional Director
Cheyne and his wife Solveig serve as the volunteer chapter leaders of Carlsbad, CA. Cheyne joined the staff to focus on chapter growth, leadership development, and implementing structures for existing and emerging chapters in San Diego, as well as strengthening partnerships with local churches. He loves Jesus, surfing, skateboarding, coffee, rich community, and spontaneous Mexico strike missions.
Matt BeachamRegional Director
Matt was born in Kitty Hawk, NC and grew up surfing on the shifting sand bars of the Outer Banks. Upon completion of college at UNCW, he began a pro surfing career spanning 12 years. Based out of Southern California, he and his fellow surfers worked on many projects with surf mags, TV, and film. Matt was the host of Fuel TV’s “New Pollution” for 4 seasons, an action sports show for youth. Sharing his faith in Christ was a regular occurrence throughout these years, and Matt has had the opportunity to speak at many CS gatherings. Matt has spent many years in California and Oahu, but has returned to the Outer Banks of NC with his wife and two young daughters.
Jacob GaluraRegional Director
As a college student, Jacob was very involved with his local CS Chapter in St. Augustine while at Flagler College. After graduating with a sports management degree Jacob joined our staff to serve as our chief administrator of the programs such as our internships, surf camps and mission trips. Jacob also is on the front line serving our local chapters and helping to connect them to resources they need to connect surfers in their local areas to ministry opportunities. Jacob serves as a leader at his local chapter, and enjoys occasionally sending it switch stance into head high Central American sets just for fun.

Our current board of director chairperson, Lyle brings his experience as a pastor to our national team of staff and volunteers, which makes up CS in the U.S. Lyle is an experienced surfer and is well rounded in his love of other outdoor pursuits like mountain biking, wake boarding and hiking. Lyle lives in Orange County California with his wife and two of his adult sons where he serves as a pastor at Terra Nova church in Irvine, CA. Lyle also enjoys visiting his third son in Indonesia where he lives and surfs some of the world’s best waves.
Brad offers CS a wealth of knowledge regarding non-profit financial development because of his work with The Focus Group which is the consultant firm Brad owns and operates which serves non-profits nation wide. Brad loves that a much of the great work that CS is involved with is predominately volunteer lead worldwide. Brad lives with is wife and four children in St. Augustine, FL where Brad enjoys training for the many marathon races he competes in.
Sean is the board member who knows everyone in the surf industry. As the Executive Director of SIMA (Surf Industry Manufacturers Association), Sean is connected to many of the leaders on the business side of the surf industry and he keeps us in the loop regarding developments in the surf industry. Sean lives in Southern California with his wife and two sons where he serves faithfully at his local church and spends as much time as possible racing mountain bikes.
Ashley has the best surfing testimony. He shares that after years in the “rat race” of a successful career in banking and wealth management, a midlife crisis of sorts brought him into a local surf shop, which was a big turning point in his life. Ashley began surfing, introduced his son’s to surfing and later owned a surf shop of his own in Mount Pleasant SC where he lives with his wife and two sons.
Mary Gordon Kerr
“MG” is an accomplished water-woman as a surfer, sailor, skier and more. She also has written children’s books, flies airplanes, helps to lead worship at her church and she started a life-style clothing company called Red Nun 2, which named after a channel marker in the Charleston SC harbor where she lives with her husband and three children. She is talented addition to the board!
If time in the water and enthusiasm for surfing accounts for anything then Ashley is one of the best surfers on the planet! Whether at home surfing with friends and family or charging the waves in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and El Salvador, Ashley is one stoked surfer. Ashley also has a huge heart for women’s ministry and is one of Monday Morning Devo contributing writers.
