OBX Campout: North America’s Gathering 2024

Published: Sat Jul 6, 2024

Category: National

Trip/Event Date:
Thu Oct 10, 2024 - Mon Oct 14, 2024

The Outer Banks Campout this year will be the North Americas Gathering of Canada, the US and English speaking Caribbean. The Outer Banks is one of the most magical places on the East Coast. The barrier islands on North Carolina are littered with beach breaks for almost any swell direction. Whether you love to surf or fish, this place is a gold mine for both. The trip will take place in Kill Devil Hills and will be from Oct. 10th – 14th. The campout is an epic way to grow and strengthen the community of Christian Surfers, through fellowship in the water, around the campfire and in the breakout sessions.

Campers will have the option to stay in a cabin or tent camp.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

We are so stoked that you are interested in joining us!
Take a look below at some of our frequently asked questions.

What will the typical day look like?

Wake up early and search for surf or grab some breakfast and enjoy the surrounding communities and all they have to offer. Back to camp for lunch, dinner, breakout sessions, evening messages and fellowship time. Maybe even a late night run to Surfin Spoon!

What are the waves like and what skill level should I be?

OBX has waves of all skill levels and depending on the swell could be playful longboard or groveler waves all the way up to freight train overhead barrels! Thats part of the adventure! The water this time of year can be a bit chilly so bring a 3/2 or 4/3 (depending on your cold tolerance).

What if I can’t surf or the waves are flat, is there something else I can participate in?

There is so much to do in the surrounding areas from fishing and hiking to lighthouse tours to a visit to the Wright Brothers memorial just up the road from camp.

What are the sleeping accommodations like?

There are tent/car camping options as well as bunk options depending on what you choose. Please note: bunk rooms are split up, all male and all female.

When will registration open? How much will the trip cost?

IT’S OPEN NOW!

What does the registration fee include and not include?

Registration fee includes accommodation chosen, food at camp, t-shirt. Fee does not include any camping equipment (if you register for camping you must provide your own tent, sleeping bag, etc.), any souvenirs, excursions or late night activities, or surfboard rental.
