Surf & Share Olympic Outreach – France & Tahiti

The 2024 Olympics are coming up and we have an incredible opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus during the Olympic window. This pioneering surf mission is the first of its kind and will be a collective effort of ministries from around the actions sports network. The Olympics Outreach will be divided into two specific areas, Tahiti where the actual Olympic contests site is located, and mainland France the host nation of the summer games. Each location provides unique opportunities for ministry. You can expect to participate in evangelism, service opportunities, prayer and community events surrounding the Olympic events. 

The ground team in Tahiti will be led by Kevin Hemingway from CS Tahiti and Kirk Beyer from CSI’s APAC area director. The focus will be in the towns surrounding the event site as physical access to Teahupoo will be restricted. Plans are still ongoing so if you want to be a part of this team bring an open mind, open heart and a serious commitment to loving people.

The France outreach will be split into several teams, there will be a stationary team in key French surf towns that did not receive the Olympic bid to host the surf event. Hossegor & Biarritz, Lacanau and La Torche are the three main areas of focus for the mainland France trip. There will also be a mobile team that travels between the different areas and could potentially make it to Paris to link up with the Skate Outreach.

Both of these trips have never been attempted before and details are still very much in the works, the Olympics last for two weeks in late July through the beginning of August so plan to be gone for around two weeks. click the link below to apply for a team and you can join in on the area specific planning calls as we move closer to the 2024 Olympics.
