LIVING WATER: What Do You Want
What Do You Want by JW Kaiser
What do you want today, more than anything else in the whole world? Think about it honestly and don’t just say “world peace”… that’s a given. Is it something for yourself? Perfect waves for today? A better car? A new job? A new six board quiver from your favorite shaper?
Or maybe it’s something less selfish. Maybe you want good health for a loved one or an opportunity for someone who needs something good to work out for them. Maybe you’ve been praying for someone to know God’s love for them. All these things are understandable to desire today… especially perfect waves if it’s flat today at your home break. It’s honestly hard to figure out what we most want isn’t it?
How about we try to answer another question in which the answer may surprise you? What does God want want today more than anything else in the whole world? I’ll give you a hint. It’s not a “what” but a “who.” Your Heavenly Father wants YOU today more than anything else in the whole world. Yes it’s fair to say “us” because God has a relentless desire for all of creation to know him and be known by him in the most intimate and selfish way. He made us for himself and paid the ultimate price for each of us.
Something is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. We pay $600+ for new surfboards because that is what we are willing to pay. God was willing to pay the price of his only son for you because that is what you are worth to him. So, to answer the question, what God wants more than anything is You!
Will you give all that you know of yourself today to your Heavenly Father who loves you so much that YOU are what he wants most in the world today?
“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” – Zephaniah 3:17
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” -Romans 5:8
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” -1 John 3:1
