This trip will take place in February and will focus on partnering with Ninos de la Luz, a local boys’ home and ministry. The team will work on various projects around the property, ranging from construction, demolition, painting, welding etc. The projects will be set based on the skill set of the team. The team will also spend time with the boys after school playing basketball, skating and taking them for a surf lesson at the local beach.

what's the week look like?

Before you go

Make sure that your passport will be valid for at least six months beyond the intended departure date. Have at least two to four blank pages in your passport for visas or entry stamps.

What will the accommodations look like?

Airbnb with air conditioning, running water and electricity. Wifi generally available but spotty.


What will the food be like? What if I have an allergy?

The team will eat out for most meals at local food trucks and restaurants; there are grocery stores nearby, so any food allergies can generally be accommodated. Drink bottled water only.


Can I get a refund?

The deposit is non-refundable once housing has been booked. Cancellations due to emergencies only will receive a refund (amount TBD based on what has been paid for). Please arrange all time off from work prior to signing up for the trip.


How much does it cost to fly a board?

Depends on the airline, generally between $30 – $150, depending on the size of the board and the airline.
