OUR STATEMENT OF BELIEF
Christian Surfers connects a worldwide family of surf-loving ministries. While each one serves its local community, we’re united by the same heart — a shared vision, mission and core values rooted in our belief in Jesus.
GOD
There is one God – creator and sustainer of the universe. God is eternally unified as three distinct Persons: Father, Son and Spirit. All are equal, all are God.
FATHER
The initiator of all God’s plans, who is both loving and just.
SON
Jesus is God’s eternally existent Son, who was virgin-born into the world as fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a once-for-all payment for our brokenness, and then rose physically from the dead triumphant over evil. Jesus will return to earth to bring God’s plan to completion.
SPIRIT
God’s Spirit lives within those who put their faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. The Spirit empowers them to grasp undeserved forgiveness, build up His Church, and reflect God’s glory to the world as we are transformed into His likeness.
BIBLE
God’s authoritative word, inspired by the Spirit, useful for teaching, correcting, and training in righteousness. It directs our thinking and action regarding all matters of spirituality, ethics and human relationships.
HUMANITY
We are all created in God’s image, yet all fall short of His perfection. We earn death and eternal separation from God through our sin. We cannot by our own efforts be reconciled to Him.
SALVATION
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. We are reconciled to Him when we trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
CHURCH
All people saved by God form the Church. We equip each other and glorify God through gathering together in holistic worship, covenant community and transformational mission.
COMMISSION
Jesus commissions us, as ambassadors of His power and love, to make disciples of all nations.
SCRIPTURE
The 66 books of the Bible are God’s inspired, inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word for the life and practice of His Church (2 Tim 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105; Isaiah 40:6-8; 2 Peter 1:16-21)
GOD

CHRIST
The promised eternal Son became man, virgin-born, sinless, died in our place, rose bodily, ascended, will return personally as promised. (Gen 3:15; Matt 1:18-23; John 1:1, 14; 1 Cor 15:3-4; 2 Cor 5:21; Acts 1:9-11; I Thess 4:13-5:11; Rev 22:12, 20)
HOLY SPIRIT
The gift of God’s abiding presence who regenerates, indwells, seals, and empowers believers to walk in their new identity in Christ (John 16:4-15; Titus 3:5; Eph 1:13)
CREATION & FALL
God created all things good, yet the first humans, made in His image, willingly rebelled. This rebellion against God’s command is called sin and is the at the root of all that troubles humankind (Gen 1-2; Gen 6:5; Rom 3:23, 5:12)
SALVATION
Being rescued from sin is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone; includes justification and sanctification unto glorification (John 3:1-21; Eph 2:1-10; Rom 8:30; 1 Cor 6:9-11)
CHURCH
All people saved by God are encouraged to join together in local gatherings for equipping each other in a covenant community, enjoying holistic worship, living out a transformational mission (1 Cor 12:13; Matt 28:19-20; Eph 4:11-16)
COMMISSION
Jesus has called the Church to live as ambassadors of His power, grace and love making disciples of all nations (Matthew 29:19-20; Acts 1:6-8; Rom 10:9-20; Rev 7:9-12)
LIFE & SEXUALITY
Life is sacred from conception to final breath; marriage affirmed by Jesus as between one man-one woman for life; sex reserved for marriage. (Ps 139:13; Gen 2:24; Matt 19:4-6; 1 Cor 6:9-20; Heb 13:4)
