Thank you all for all your prayers and support for the 2nd-ever Surfathon! We were so blessed to participate in this global fundraiser to get more Bibles printed and into the hands of surfers who don’t know Jesus yet.

When we boil down everything we do as an organization, it really is the power of God’s word that does the changing.

Hebrews 4:12, which states the Word is “living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.” Isaiah 55:11 says God’s Word “shall not return to me void.”

The work of Christian Surfers is simple: we want to see “every surfer and every surfing community have the opportunity to know and follow Jesus.” We do this in so many cool ways, but getting God’s word into the hands of people who haven’t read His living, breathing Word is crucial to fulfilling our mission.

We are truly grateful for this opportunity we had as an organization to catch as many waves as we could to raise funds to buy more Bibles. Read some of the testimonies below.

“Recently, I followed up with a young surfer I met on a flight a year ago. We spent three hours in the air talking about life and surfing and Jesus. I gave him a Surfer’s Bible while on the plane, and he asked many questions. We walked through that Bible for answers to those questions. Before we landed, he prayed for God’s forgiveness and welcomed Jesus as his Savior. He told me in our recent chat that he was attending a church regularly, in a small group and was leading a weekly Bible study with a few guys his age. Jesus changes everything and the Surfers Bible made a difference in the life of this young man.” – Kyle Sullivan, Northeast Regional Coordinator

“A young missionary kid in coastal Africa, who received an original printing of the Surfer’s Bible, over 20 years ago. After growing up and walking through the world, that small gesture and gift of a Surfer’s Bible from a CS chapter leader led him into ministry on his own, and the Lord directed him to Christian Surfers, and he eventually joined staff as a full-time missionary himself!”

“A young family on vacation, who happened upon a local surf contest – not in their home area. They entered and connected with a CS chapter leader in the water the day before the contest. After a day of competing and continual stoke, encouragement and connection, that chapter leader felt prompted to gift each of the competitors a Surfer’s Bible. At the end of the day, as the competition was finished and everyone was packing up their cars, those groms’ dad came up to that chapter leader and said, despite winning multiple prize bags of gear and literally thousands of dollars in prize money, that the Surfer’s Bible was the most important thing they received that day.”

“A missionary on a surf trip to SE Asia met and connected with a woman while on the trip. After connecting and talking for a while, learning about each other’s lives, past, and families. The woman mentioned that ever since she was a little girl, she had always wanted a Bible. Feeling moved by the Spirit, the missionary remembered that he had ONE Surfer’s Bible in his surf bag and asked the woman if she had ever gotten that Bible? She said she hadn’t, and he told her that the Lord had ordained this meeting and time of connection just for her to receive this bible, if she would receive it. She accepted and, through some connections, unbeknownst to either of them, learned that after receiving the Surfer’s Bible, she went home and began reading. A few days later, this woman, who had been experiencing such physical and mental pain and trauma, had reached out to a mutual acquaintance and asked, “How do I become a Christian Surfer?” She was connected with a local CS chapter where she lives, and they began walking alongside her and encouraging her in this newfound faith.”
